Sake Lounge & Restaurant takes on new look

Houston Business Journal - September 29, 2006

Sake Lounge & Restaurant, located in Downtown's Bayou Place, is undergoing an extreme makeover under the direction of the restaurant's new management.

Kenneth Goh has been named the new director of operations and Dean Chou and Michelle Peng are the new general managers of the establishment.

New chef Yama Son just moved to Houston from New York and specializes in the fusion food technique.

Son's menu will include seared peppercorn tuna tataki, albacore floats and the rock shrimp martini.

The restaurant, located at 550 Texas Ave., is also taking on a new look with lighting and fixtures designed to give the restaurant the feel of modern day Japan and the bar area will be adorned with cozy booths with low tables.

The renovation is being done in phases to allow the restaurant to remain open, but Sake Lounge & Restaurant will host a re-grand opening in late November.
